'I couldn't sit back and watch people suffer'

With Sassoon Docks in the doldrums and all associated activity risking extinction with a legal tussle between the authorities, the cause of the common would be lost if it wasn't for Krishna Pawle's campaign. "Besides the business affected for the traders here at Sassoon Docks, it's the plight of the Kolis, Marathas, banjaras, boat kamgars, auctioneers, barafwalas, hathgadiwalas, porters and tempowallas which moves me immensely. I couldn't just sit back and watch them suffer," he says.
"These are my people and I will do whatever in my means to be able to bring their plight to public light and force the authorities to take note."
In the capacity of the President of Aadhar Pratisthan, Krishna Pawle has worked tirelessly for the scores of Sassoon Docks workers and created this website to bring the cause of Sassoon Docks to the limelight. "It pains me immensely to see online visuals and versions that are demeaning to the Docks and its cause," he says. "Through the website, I wish to put things into perspective and create awareness on Sassoon Docks through exhibitions and movies."
Considering the task ahead, it'll take a while but it's a step in the right direction. Krishna Pawle, for one, isn't giving up either.
